Setting goals is easy.
Achieving them is where everyone fails.
The difference comes down to 7 habits.
Here's what to stop and start doing:
1/ 𝐒𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐠𝐨𝐚𝐥𝐬
Stop: "I want to get in shape."
Start: "I will run 3x per week at 7am for 30 minutes."
Vague goals give you vague results.
Make them specific, measurable, and time bound.
2/ 𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬
Stop: Chasing goals with no scoreboard.
Start: Using OKRs to track progress.
Set one clear objective.
Add 3 key results you can measure.
Review them weekly.
3/ 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐦
Stop: Waiting for a big burst of energy.
Start: Doing one small action daily.
Block 2 hours for deep work.
Use a habit tracker.
Show up on the bad days too.
4/ 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠
Stop: Treating everything as urgent.
Start: Sorting by impact.
Urgent and important? Do it first.
Important but not urgent? Schedule it.
Not important? Delegate or delete it.
5/ 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐞𝐭𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐬
Stop: Quitting after one bad week.
Start: Reflecting and adjusting.
Missed a workout? Plan a makeup day.
Fell behind? Find what went wrong.
Adjust the plan, not the goal.
6/ 𝐆𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤
Stop: Working in isolation.
Start: Asking people you trust.
Role play with a colleague.
Record yourself presenting.
Find your blind spots early.
7/ 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐬
Stop: Setting and forgetting.
Start: Weekly reviews.
What worked this week?
What didn't?
What will I change next week?
Goals don't fail because of bad luck.
They fail because of bad systems.
Fix the system and the results follow.
Save this for your next goal review.
